CivilWarVignettes - A Civil War Genealogy Research Service Dedicated to the more than 200,000 troops killed or fatally wounded in battle 1861-1865

Our Service
A vignette (vinYET) can be an image, a description, or both. For the purposes of the "Civil War Vignettes" American Civil War genealogy service, it is both. Our service combines a well-researched textual description with an appropriate period photographic image, and offers the result to our clients.

Best estimates show that more than 200,000 soldiers - 94,000 Confederates and 110,000 Federals - lost their lives from 1861-1865 as a direct result of combat action on the battlefields of the American Civil War. Today, a growing number of descendants want to know more about the individual fates of those who died, and where their remains are located. The goal of our service is to provide this kind of information to those who seek it, placing it in an appropriate historical setting. Feel free to peruse the sample vignettes. Our clients will receive a similiar description, with text and a photographic image, recording the time, place and circumstances surrounding the demise of their ancestor in an 8x10 inch glossy photo paper format suitable for framing. The cost of our service, which normally involves 4-10 hours of extensive research and preparation, is $95 per vignette.
